Sans Souci
Although the french-named vessel, Sans Souci was “adopted” by Bald Head Island and refurbished, she kept her original name, which translated means without care or worry, or carefree. The name not only reflects the general lifestyle of Bald Head Island, but happily coincides with the name of an early 18th-century rice plantation on the Lower Cape Fear River.
